  • Engage and excite skaters while demonstrating skills

  • Halloween Theme Week: Oct 27-Oct31. Show off your
Halloween costume, wear Halloween-themed clothing, or show up with some spooky face paint! Please make sure outfits and accessories are safe for skating.
  • Ice Show! We will be producing an ice show in December! Dress rehearsal will be December 12th, with our performances happening December 13th!
  • Christmas Theme Week: Our next theme week will be on Dec 15-19. Show your holiday spirit by dressing the part! Please make sure outfits and accessories are safe for skating.

The PA Training Clinic will be held on Friday, September 6 at Strathcona Gardens. New this term, the Club will be providing a Figure Skating Academy PA training program extension. PA candidates for both CanSkate and Figure Skating Academy will be notified of their eligibility via email. Important: participants must have valid 2024-2025 Skate Canada Membership in order to participate. Registration is to be completed via Uplifter.

3:30-4:00pm Classroom Theory Training - Pinecrest Room
4:15-5:15pm   On-Ice Practical Training - Rink 1

WHAT TO BRING
Please bring your skates, a water bottle, and dress appropriately (layers are recommended). Due to the length and time of the session, skaters are welcome to bring a snack/small meal to eat during the classroom portion.

​Welcome to the Spring 2024 CanSkate season!

CanSkate runs four days a week this Spring – classes run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 515-5:45pm, plus a new Saturday morning class from 9:15-10:00am.

We’ll be skating on Rink 1 for the first week only (April 2-6), then we'll be on Rink 2 for the remainder of the season (April 8-June 15).

There will be no CanSkate on Saturday May 18th or Monday May 20th, due to the Victoria Day long weekend.​

We have two theme weeks planned for the Spring season – PA’s are encouraged to add to the fun by dressing up or wearing accessories that match that theme.

Bring a Friend Week will be April 22-27! Registered CanSkaters will be allowed to invite a friend to join them on their session. We'll be looking for lots of help during this week, so keep your calendar open if you can!
May Flowers Theme Week  April showers bring May flowers! From May 6-11, celebrate springtime by wearing patterns or accessories that feature flowers, plants, butterflies or bumblebees!  ​

​St Patrick’s Day Theme Week!  Our final theme week will be March 11-14. Dress up like a lucky leprechaun by wearing something green!

We'll be looking for all hands on deck to help, so I’ve added an extra slot for each of these classes. Please make yourself available, if at all possible!

​Halloween Theme Days  Our first theme week will be Oct 30-Nov 2. Show off your Halloween costume or wear some Halloween-theme clothing or makeup! ​
Christmas Holiday Theme Days  Our final theme week of the season will be Dec 18-21. It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Show your holiday spirit by dressing the part!​

The PA Training Clinic will be held on Tuesday, September 5, from 4:30pm-7:00pm at Strathcona Gardens. PA candidates will be notified of their eligibility via email. 

There will be two parts to this training:
  - Classroom training from 4:30-5:45 PM (in the Pinecrest Room)
  - On-ice training from 6:00-7:00 PM (on Rink 1)
