CanSkate Coordinator & Club Coach
Jade Nesvold Jade Nesvold is a Certified Regional skating coach with a broad range of coaching experience, including delivering adaptive programs for marginalized youth and skaters with disabilities.
Jade grew up figure skating in rural Alberta, competing at the regional level in Freeskate and Artistic for several years, before being introduced to coaching as a teenager. After taking time off to explore other sports and various career pursuits, she returned to figure skating as an adult in 2014 and began assisting with the CanSkate program at her local club. Realizing how much she loved teaching and working with skaters, Jade made the leap to professional coaching in 2017. She coached with multiple clubs in the Edmonton area, along with Skate Canada’s CanSkate@School program for inner-city youth. In 2021, Jade moved to Campbell River to be closer to family, and joined Campbell River Skating Club as a CanSkate coach. Jade achieved her Regional certification in 2022 and is now the CanSkate Coordinator for CRSC’s learn-to-skate program. Jade is passionate about introducing people to the joy of skating, empowering learners on and off ice, and making the sport as welcoming and fulfilling as possible for everyone involved. |
