ABOUT CANSKATECanSkate is the Learn to Skate program which all others are measured against. The program teaches and trains all key components of ice skating – including agility, balance and control – in a fun and engaging environment.
Campbell River Skating Club offers CanSkate for kids, teens and adults, as well as PreCanSkate and Parent & Tot classes. We encourage anyone over the age of 18 to participate in our Learn To Skate program! Please note, while we try our best to accommodate adult-only classes, if adult registration is low, you may be placed in a group which includes children. Skaters are grouped according a variety of factors, including skill level and age, and are assessed throughout the season to encourage continuous learning and progress. Meet the coaches! In order to register for a program, a Parent/Guardian or Participant (18 years or older) must create a Member Account.
Note: All skaters must be registered with Skate Canada before joining us on ice. Annual Skate Canada Membership and Insurance is valid from September 1 to August 31, and covers all programs registered for during this time. This fee is non-refundable. For developmental reasons, it is our strong recommendation that when selecting days to skate, you space them out as much as possible. (Eg. Mon/Thurs is more ideal than Wed/Thurs). EQUIPMENTProper equipment is essential for safety and success in our sport. CanSkate skaters are required to have good-fitting, well-sharpened skates and CSA certified helmets. (Bike helmets are not approved.)
