CanSkate is the Learn to Skate program which all others are measured against.
CanSkate teaches and trains all key components of ice skating – including agility, balance and control – in a fun and engaging environment.
Campbell River Skating Club offers CanSkate for kids, teens and adults, as well as PreCanSkate and Parent & Tot classes.
Skaters are grouped according a variety of factors, including skill level and age, and are assessed throughout the season to encourage continuous learning and progress.
FEES & SIGN UP
Sign up now using our Uplifter online registration portal. All available sessions are posted here, along with the fees for each program. In order to register for a program, a Parent/Guardian or Participant (18 years or older) must create a Member Account.
Note: All skaters must be registered with Skate Canada before joining us on ice. Annual Skate Canada Membership and Insurance is valid from September 1 to August 31, and covers all programs registered for during this time. This fee is non-refundable.
For developmental reasons, it is our strong recommendation that when selecting days to skate, you space them out as much as possible. (Eg. Mon/Thurs is more ideal than Wed/Thurs).
Proper equipment is essential for safety and success in our sport. CanSkate skaters are required to have good-fitting, well-sharpened skates and CSA certified helmets. (Bike helmets are not approved.)
You can get skilled consultation and high quality gear- including skates, helmets, accessories, clothing and more- from our local retail partner, North Edge Ice Sports.
Millions of Canadians, including numerous Olympians
and world champions, learned to skate in the hallmark CanSkate program. Give your skater the best start possible.
Classes run year round.
