The Coaching Team
Club Coach
Jocelyn DeRosa As a Certified Regional and Trained PowerSkate coach, Jocelyn DeRosa has a wide scope of teaching experience and an extensive background in skating.
Stepping into her first pair of skates at the age of 4, Jocelyn spent her youth at the ice rink, where she developed her skating skills and a taste for performing. She competed at provincial and national levels, taking home a gold medal in Senior Ladies Freeskate at the 1997 BC Winter Games and 1997/1998 Western Divisional Championship. After years of competition, she toured professionally with Disney On Ice, before returning to coach in BC. After serving as Head Coach with the Castlegar Figure Skating Club in 2003/2004, Jocelyn took an extended break from coaching to travel the world and explore other education and career opportunities. Eventually, Jocelyn’s love of skating and working with developing athletes drew her back to coaching, and she joined Campbell River Skating Club’s coaching team in 2022. Specializing in Creative Expression and Performance Enhancement, Jocelyn helps skaters explore the joy of movement and expand their ability to perform. She is deeply inspired to share the joy of ice skating with people of all ages and abilities. |
